When Marta Rota lost her father at just four years old, she lost part of her mother too. Fashion designer Margarita Jovani was forced to throw herself into her work to keep her young family afloat. Marta grew up in the Barcelona of the 1950s, swept between the fabrics of her mother’s boutique and the high- nd catwalks of Paris and Milan. Having inherited her mother’s talent for combining colour and style, she left school at an early age to pursue her passion for dressing women in clothes that help them look and feel beautiful. Guided by intuition and a love for her vocation, in the sixties Marta took a brave leap and opened her own haute couture studio, Tot-Hom. From that moment on, she would have to face all the struggles that come with being a woman at the head of a successful business.
